Duration: 3+ months (potential extension)
Location: Oakland, CA (Remote, within 50 miles)
Role Overview:
Seeking an operational specialist to support Square’s suite of banking products (loans, credit, and other banking services). This role combines customer support, risk mitigation, and process improvement with a focus on delivering a white-glove seller experience.

Role Overview:
Seeking an operational specialist to support Square’s suite of banking products (loans, credit, and other banking services). This role combines customer support, risk mitigation, and process improvement with a focus on delivering a white-glove seller experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to seller inquiries via CRM tools (email/messaging).
- Review and process applications and business documentation.
- Provide loan/account information to customers.
- Identify trends, escalate issues, and suggest process/product improvements.
- Support compliance efforts through BSA/AML-related responsibilities.
- Meet/exceed SLAs to minimize risk and potential revenue loss.
- Document bugs/features and advocate for seller community.
- Collaborate remotely with teams via messaging tools and video conferencing.
- Contribute to updates for Square Banking support content.
- Develop an understanding of the underwriting process.
Required Skills & Attributes:
- 1+ years’experience in a financial institution, payment provider, or direct customer-facing role.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Slack, CRM tools.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Passion for customer success and helping small businesses grow.
- Flexible, collaborative, and open to feedback.
Nice to Have:
- Prior risk/compliance (BSA/AML) exposure.
- Familiarity with banking/underwriting workflows.
- Experience in process improvement or customer advocacy roles.
