This is a temporary Benefits Specialist position.
The Benefits Specialist performs a variety of tasks related to benefits administration, including Open Enrolment, and implementation of the Workday system, for a group of more than 12, 000 employees.
The Benefits Specialist provides excellent customer service to employees who call into a high-volume phone centre using enrolment and other technology to answer questions and resolve issues.
The Benefits Specialist uses technology to research, analyse, evaluate, and present the County Employee Benefit Plans/Programs in compliance with contract provisions, County procedures, and Federal and State statutes, rules, and regulations in order to successfully assist County employees.
2 years of experience with Benefits administration experience for a self-funded, employer-sponsored group health plan for an employer with 5, 000 or more employees, and benefit enrolment system platforms technology.
Experience administering health and welfare benefits under the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations.
Experience in a phone-intensive, customer service-oriented environment.
Experience on the functionality of the Workday system.
Dependent and event verification experience.
Documented HIPAA training and experience handling confidential material in a healthcare or employment environment.
2 years of directly related experience in employee benefits administration, which includes customer service experience, of a self-funded, employer-sponsored group health plan.
Benefits administration experience relative to the position may include but is not limited to interpreting plan provisions, providing input on plan design and rates; writing employee communications and plan documents; and/or using HRIS and vendor systems.
