Job Description

  • Position:  Right-of-Way Agent I
    Location:   San Diego, CA(Hybrid)
    Duration:   12 + Months Contract (High Possibility of extension)
    Job Description:
  • Constructs, builds, repairs, and inspects Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) networks to provide voice, video, and data to residential and commercial customers.
  • Coordinates with other utilities for permits, joint trench, pole applications, and service issues.
  • 107-Right-of-Way Agent I 108-Performs field engineering of proposed projects and ensures alternative routing delivers the most cost effective design for construction.
  • 109-Coordinates contractor work and make-ready, obtains permits and access or ROW agreements, distributes design prints and other necessary working documents.
  • Negotiates and approves design or construction changes.
  • 110-Researches and reviews plans, gathers necessary data and listing material requirements for project.
  • 111-Coordinates with public works personnel, developers, commercial customers, building owners, and utilities on joint trench projects.
  • 112-Maintains workflow databases and updates schedules.
  • Participates in managing and estimating revenue forecasts, material planning, capital and expense budgets.
  • 113-Estimates construction costs, prepares budgets, and tracks expenses.
  • 114-Participates in managing and estimating revenue forecasts, material planning, capital and expense budgets.
  • 115-Verifies serviceability, surveys proposed service routing, and estimates material, construction, and labor costs.
  • 116-Initiates customer contacts, secures access or ROW agreements, completes route designs, and takes necessary steps to meet customer needs.
  • 117-Works closely with design and engineering teams to select and allocate fiber needs and requirements.
  • 118-May order materials or coordinate with administrative personnel; may verify and reconcile invoices.
  • 119-May inspect construction work or coordinate inspection assignments.
  • 120-Releases addresses as serviceable and notifies other departments of serviceabilitity.
  • 121-As projects are completed, perform tasks to close tasks in database, reconcile assets, and generate reports.
  • Typical Training / Experience
  • HS diploma, GED or relevant work experience; Technical certification or Associates degree may be preferred and/or required in some areas
  • 5-7 years of experience in related area of responsibility Dept/Org Scope & Impact - Senior support roles highly experienced in area of responsibility
  • Performs all of the standard and some specialized more complex aspects of the function; increases department or area impact Problem Complexity
  • Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems independently; May modify processes to resolve situations Autonomy
  •   Under limited supervision, relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine best approach to achieve desired outcomes.
