EPMO Standards Lead

Employment Type: Contract through 06/02/2026 (High potential for extension)

Location: 100% Remote

Travel: Occasional travel to Jackson, MI, if necessary

Start Date: ASAP

 

About the Role:

The EPMO Standards Lead plays a critical role within the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), serving as the primary owner and custodian of the organization’s project management process standards. This position focuses on maintaining, developing, and enhancing the project lifecycle process library and ensuring alignment between documented processes and the digital project management tools used across the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Process Standards Ownership:
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of approximately 60 documents within the Project Lifecycle Process Library (POP).
  • Ensure all project management standards are current, accurate, and aligned with industry best practices and organizational needs.
  • Gather and incorporate feedback from project managers, business users, and system observations to update process documentation.

Governance & Compliance:
  • Support governance activities including gate reviews and stage gate process facilitation.
  • Coordinate with senior leadership to ensure governance processes are adhered to and improvements are implemented effectively.

Tool Integration & Alignment:
  • Ensure consistency between documented processes and the project management information system (PMIS).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align digital tools and processes, ensuring seamless integration and usability.

Communication & Training:
  • Develop and deliver training materials and communications related to process standards and governance tools.
  • Act as a liaison between EPMO leadership, project teams, and supporting departments to promote understanding and adherence to standards.

 

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience preferred (flexible based on quality of experience).
  • Background in Energy, Oil & Gas, or Construction industries highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in project management, engineering, or business operations.

Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with HTML and digital project management tools is a plus.

 

Certifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.

  1. Understanding of project delivery frameworks and lifecycle standards from the perspective of a seasoned project manager.

Exceptional Communication:
  1. Excellent command of the English language, with strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and stakeholder engagement.

Process Ownership:
  1. Ability to take full ownership of standards documentation and drive improvements with minimal supervision.
