Title: Machinist
Location: Charlotte, NC 28262
Duration: 6+ Months
Description
Currently looking for a skilled Machinist to operate a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks.
Responsibilities:
Mandatory
1. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
2. Competency with computer numerical controlled (CNC) lathe.
3. Able to operate multiple machine types, to include, CNC mill, manual lathe, manual mill, electrostatic discharge machining (EDM), saws, grinders, and various hand tools.
4. Able to use Microsoft Outlook.
5. Able to read, interpret, and follow work orders, blueprints, and work instructions.
6. Able to sit, stand, or crouch down for extended periods.
7. Able to climb ladders and work platforms.
8. Able to work in laboratory and industrial environments.
9. Able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safety glasses and ear protection.
10. Able to apply a basic, working knowledge of math, geometry, and trigonometry.
Ideal Candidate
1. Knowledge of 5S principles, lean manufacturing, six sigma, or other continual improvement process.
2. Able to use Excel, Word.
3. At least 3 years of machining experience.
4. High School diploma or GED required, college level or trade school education preferred.
5. Experience in the field may be substituted for education.

- Monitoring work progress and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Supporting a clean and orderly work environment.
- Supporting a safe work environment.
- Supporting process and productivity improvement.
- Helping to manage the machine shop chemical inventory.
- Assisting in control of machine shop consumables.
- Maintaining machine shop equipment.
