Location: North Weymouth, MA (100% Onsite)
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $40.00–$43.00 per hour
Overview
Enbridge is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician II to join our Gas Transmission Operations team in North Weymouth, MA. This is a direct-hire opportunity offering competitive hourly pay ($40–$43/hr, with flexibility for highly experienced candidates), consistent overtime (20+ hours/month at time-and-a-half), and a sign-on bonus along with relocation assistance.
We are looking for candidates committed to a long-term career path (ideally 2+ years) and eager to grow within one of the leading organizations in the energy industry.

The first year will focus heavily on hands-on training and shadowing senior technicians at compressor stations to learn and apply procedures the “Enbridge Way.”Travel within a 100-mile radius may be required for training purposes.

What You Can Expect

Key Responsibilities
- Operate, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair compressor station systems, including: Air and air dryer systems;Fuel systems;Cooling water systems;Gas compression systems;Turbine/compressor packages and prime movers;Safety, oil, and filtration systems
- Monitor operational pressures, alarm set points, and system variables;respond effectively to abnormal conditions.
- Perform start-up, shutdown, and monitoring of turbine/compressor package units, including initial alarm response.
- Complete accurate documentation, reports, and maintenance records;ensure preventive maintenance schedules are current.
- Troubleshoot and assist in repairs for all station equipment;work independently on standard tasks.
- Uphold and enforce all safety protocols and participate actively in safety programs.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures and external regulations (PHMSA, EPA, SOPs, O&M manuals).
- Operate station valves, auxiliary equipment, and liquids storage systems.
- Participate in design reviews and interpret one-line and diagrammatic engineering drawings.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members;serve as a lead when required.
- Contribute to maintenance planning and budget-related activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including on-call rotations, overtime, shift work, and emergency response.
Qualifications
Required:
- Solid mechanical aptitude;experience “turning a wrench”in industrial, mechanical, or automotive environments.
- Ability to perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repairs.
- Comfort working with rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines).
- Willingness to work in a field/industrial setting and travel within a regional radius during first-year training.
- 1–2+ years of experience as a mechanical technician (newer graduates also encouraged to apply).
- Experience in compressor stations or with gas turbines.
- Exposure to natural gas systems or industrial/mechanical operations.
- No certifications required—training and all necessary certifications will be provided.
