Resource Scheduler I
Duration: Through May 15, 2026, with potential for extension based on performance and team needs.
Location: Muskegon Norton Shores Customer Service Center, MI 49441
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (In-office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday;remote Wednesday and Friday)
 
 
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Resource Scheduler I to support the Underground Electric Operations team in Muskegon, MI. This role plays a critical part in coordinating schedules, resources, and communication among internal departments and external partners to ensure successful execution of field operations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and manage daily schedules for field crews and field leaders in underground electric operations.
  • Lead daily start-of-day (6: 00–6: 15 AM) and end-of-day calls with the operations team.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments (e.G., Forestry, Engineering, Permitting, Equipment Services) to ensure job readiness.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, regarding job status, changes, and scheduling updates.
  • Ensure job site readiness, including confirming permits, locates, and necessary third-party coordination (e.G., equipment rentals).
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP to manage scheduling tasks and job orders.
  • Support planning to prevent labor downtime and ensure crews have actionable assignments.
  • Assist in training new schedulers or supporting other service areas as needed.
 
Qualifications:
Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a scheduling, coordination, dispatch, or customer service role (utility or field operations environment preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime based on operational needs.
Preferred:
  • Experience with SAP (Training will be provided;prior SAP knowledge is a plus but not required)
  • Prior experience supporting field or utility operations.
  • Familiarity with scheduling best practices and work order management.
 
Working Conditions:
  • Early morning availability required for daily kickoff calls (6: 00–6: 15 AM).
  • Hybrid work model (onsite presence required Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday).
  • Must be located within reasonable commuting distance to the Muskegon Norton Shores Service Center.
  • Occasional overtime may be required based on operational needs.
