Job Description


Scheduling Administrative Support

Duration: Through July 30, 2027, with potential for extension based on performance and team needs.

Location: Kalamazoo, MI 49001

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (In-office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday;remote Wednesday and Friday)

 

Position Summary:

CMS Energy is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Scheduler I to support day-to-day scheduling operations within the assigned business unit. The Scheduler will coordinate and manage resource planning, ensure workflow efficiency, and support emergent operational issues as they arise.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute daily work schedules, including dispatching assignments and conducting short-term forecasting.
  • Communicate clearly with internal teams such as field operations, supervision, and support groups.
  • Use internal systems and tools to track job progress, submit work orders, monitor performance data, and make real-time scheduling adjustments.
  • Assist in handling urgent or emergent work needs, including volume monitoring and issue escalation.
  • Generate reports, identify training or process improvement opportunities, and assist with standard operating procedure (SOP) creation.
  • Perform additional business unit-specific tasks as needed.

 

Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate Degree in Business or related field (Required)
  • Experience: Prior experience in scheduling or coordination roles preferred

 

Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure or urgent situations
  • Proficient in using enterprise-level systems and software tools
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
